Select the contents of the row like this:

$(row).contents().slideDown();

.contents() - Get the children of each element in the set of matched elements, including text and comment nodes.

You also have to select the column as well, so something like $('tr > td').contents().slideDown(). Make sure all the content inside the column is wrapped in a tag, i.e., having <td>Some text</td> won't work. This is the simplest solution.

You could try wrapping the contents of the row in a <span> and having your selector be $('#detailed_edit_row span'); - a bit hackish, but I just tested it and it works. I also tried the table-row suggestion above and it didn't seem to work.

update: I've been playing around with this problem, and from all indications jQuery needs the object it performs slideDown on to be a block element. So, no dice. I was able to conjure up a table where I used slideDown on a cell and it didn't affect the layout at all, so I am not sure how yours is set up. I think your only solution is to refactor the table in such a way that it's ok with that cell being a block, or just .show(); the damn thing. Good luck.

You can't animate tr and td tags. You must wrap the contents of each td with a div, then animate the div, then hide/show the tr: <td><div style="display:block">contents</div></td>

You could use the box-sizing properties to load second image in background and show it on hover : HTML base:

<h1 id="logo">
  <a href="http://stackoverflow.com">
    <img src="http://lorempixel.com/100/100/abstract/2" alt="Stack Overflow">
  </a>
</h1>
h1 a img {
  background:url(http://lorempixel.com/100/100/people/9);/* preload img 2 here */
  box-sizing:content-box;/* safe reset , use prefix */
}
h1 a:hover  img {
  height:0;
  width:0;
  padding:50px;
}

Can you please tell me where you got the '50px' value for padding from? Half the height and width of the image correct?

@its_me yes , this is it, it keeps img tag to have 100px width and height , size of img itself. to adapt to image sizes . For info, you can add transition and get few effects : codepen.io/gc-nomade/pen/Joqzp

If the answer is on the server side, like via PHP, then you should just set the style of #subQuestion using your server side code:

if($databaseFieldForAnswer != 1){
    $subDiv = '<div style=\"visibility: hidden\"></div>';
}

...better yet, assign a class that handles whether the div is shown or not.

Bind a listener to the scroll event and monitor the scroll position. Once it passes a certain value, show the content.

You can get the scroll position using .scrollTop() and compare it to either a fixed value or the position of the footer from .offset(). Don't forget to add the window height so it will trigger as soon as the footer is visible.

To ensure that the content is shown if the footer happens to be visible without needing to scroll, you can trigger the scroll event on ready:

You'll have to do more than just change the history stack by changing the hash, you need to make your application aware of the back/forward buttons being pressed as well. There's a couple ways to do this. window.onhashchange is fired in most browsers but doesn't have complete support so it can't be relied upon alone.

An easier approach would be to get a plugin that allows for history tracking through AJAX applications. You may not be doing AJAX but the principle is the same, you want to track the state of the page and allow the navigation buttons to follow that flow.

You're right, I'm not using AJAX in this application, however the github plugin looks fairly simple to use, I'll give it a try on monday when I'm back in the office. Thanks!

When you allow the grid control to auto-generate columns, it will basically enumerate through the properties of that object and create a column for each one. It has no way to know that you want to display this as a grid of array values.

You'll need to create a new object (such as an enumerable list of a class) out of the array with the properties you want to bind to as columns. A quick way to do this would be to use an anonymous type, built using a LINQ query. Something like:

string[][] Array = new string[100][];
for(int i = 0; i < 100; i++) // Set some values to test
   Array[i] = new string[2] { "Value 1", "Value 2" };

dataGridView.DataSource = (from arr in Array select new { Col1 = arr[0], Col2 = arr[1] });
Page.DataBind();

Here, we're iterating through all 100 elements of the array. Each element is an array of 2 strings. We're creating an anonymous type out of those two strings. This type has two properties: Col1 and Col2. Col1 will be set to array index 0, and Col2 will be set to array index 1. Then, we're building the grid to that enumeration of anonymous types. This will look something like:

You can of course define exactly how columns will be created by setting AutoGenerateColumns to False, and populated the Columns collection. This can be done declaratively as well within your ASPX file.

I think you should place your buttons outside the whole UITableView stuff, for example in a UIToolBar at top/bottom of the table, and simply create an IBAction per each button that reloads the content of the UITableView with different informations.

Basically change the data you pass to the manager to fill in the table and reload.

please if you can help with sample code how to connect button to view that reload date, I'll be thankful

You aren't using the assignment operator to assign a value to $result. Use a single equals sign, ie

<?php
if ($_GET['page'] == "faq") {
   $result = 'FAQ';
} else {
   $result = 'Non-FAQ';
}
echo $result;
?>

It still isn't working for me, I used that exact example, and even created a new php file and appended ?page=faq to the end, but it still doesn't click.

well after searching around, i have came to the conclusion that lightbox is not the proper plug in to use. instead i am using the colorbox plugin at http://colorpowered.com/colorbox/ which has this capability integrated, and simple to use.

This is the same course of action I'm now pursuing. The only other thing that would make it even better would be a way to show node body content via a separate call.

There is no method called setTextValue, use html or text method to set any content inside the dom element. Try this

$(function(){

 var hero_text_under_photo = 'Hero 1'
  var hero_2_text_under_photo = 'Hero 2'
  var hero_3_text_under_photo = 'Hero 3'
  var hero_4_text_under_photo = 'Hero 4'

  console.log(hero_text_under_photo);
    $('#hero_1_text_under_photo').text(hero_text_under_photo);
    $('#hero_2_text_under_photo').text(hero_2_text_under_photo);
    $('#hero_3_text_under_photo').text(hero_3_text_under_photo);
    $('#hero_4_text_under_photo').text(hero_4_text_under_photo);

});

FBJS is specific to Facbook. setTextValue is a method for it but it can not be used in conjunction with jQuery.

My Solution: Managed to get it working by using the sibling property of the div next to the tooltip div element

$('.gantt').each(function () {
         $(this).qtip({
             content: $(this).siblings('div.tooltip').html(),
             style: {
                 width: 200,
                 background: '#ebf1ff',
                 color: 'black',
                 textAlign: 'left',
                 border: {
                     width: 1,
                     radius: 4,
                     color: '#AACCEE'
                 },
                 tip: 'bottomLeft',
                 name: 'dark'
             },
             position: {
                 corner: {
                     target: 'topMiddle',
                     tooltip: 'bottomLeft'
                 }
             }
         });
     });
